Let it snow..?

Well, work day's nearly over! I spent a good lot of it working on my next installment of Kiera's story, "Dark Destiny". (the first was published on the Dark Ages website a few years ago!) Next time they run a Lit contest, I'd like to enter it, so I'm not going to upload it anywhere yet.. I'll just share it with a few friends to make sure it sounds good before entering it in a contest.

Had fun with Suzuna/Chijin last night in the game! Tried to do a quick little quest, but I lost the group. >_<; oh well. We'll try again sometime! Chijin helped Dairine polish a lot of gems, then get a new hairstyle! I'll have to get pix of that up, along with Kiera's new look. Oh, and Dairine and Suzuna crashed a REALLY pretty wedding! Going to have to throw up a pic from that later too!

There's snow in the forecast.. but none here yet! Cities around us have it though, so soon! *gets ready for a very cold trip home tonight*

Black Haired Girl - Part II

Well, through the power of Blogger and the magic of copy'n'paste, I can now babble away at my office computer, then sneak over to the Internet-capable computer and upload, presto! Not that I always have things that desperately need to be uploaded instantly but hey.. when I do write, why not stick it up fast?

I finally checked my Hotmail account.. hadn't really in a while, and I was surprised to see a notice from a website saying I had a personal message waiting! Ooo.. So this morning before work I checked it out. It's from a girl in Chilliwack.. and.. she has black hair! Normally this wouldn't be anything, but those dreams I had.. wow.. and she sounds really nice! Not looking for a relationship, but that's okay, neither am I really. Just looking to meet new people and see what happens! I hope it's not too late to write her. I'm going to go do that now. She's a Wiccan, and self-proclaimed techno geek! Ahhh.. very cool! And she's 25. Goody!

Hum.. I just realized that now that I'm on Blogger I may get a whole slew of strangers visiting this and they may be kind of confused about who I am. Oh well! You'll find out if you want to. But yeah, check out Déjà Vu, my journal that I started this year. It has lots of back-posts that may explain some things.

Evilness abounds, but the good kind!

ha ha.. I love this thing! I can post stuff up here whenever I want! And when I have time.... it could get pretty busy! lol! Anyways, hey Kok: BWAHAHAHAHAHA HA! Some of you who see this MAY know what that is for. Actually, maybe not. Oh well. I know! la la la. Let's just say I'm being sneaky and loving it! The rest.. goes into the unpublished journal. Sorry folks!

Well, here it is, a new way to journal! Yay!

1:30pm - Okay, that’s the freakiest thing ever. I put on the Radio Sunnydale cd, then thought about how I wanted to hear “Blue”. Sure enough, “Blue” played first (I have my cd player on random). That was just a nice little thing, so I didn’t think much of it. But then, as it ended and another song started, I thought about how it would have been nice if the Buffy theme song had of played first. Suddenly, part-way through the song that was playing, the cd skipped and went to the next random track.. the Buffy theme!! My gawd, is that ever freaky!! It’s a brand new cd.. no damages to make it skip. It never did on that track before!..

blogger.com .. is that what it was? I was messing around online in the office here, and noticed IE had a new button and if you clicked it, it gives you a window to “blog now, linking to this page”.. Weird! So I went to the website, and sure enough.. it’s a free blogging site that gives you an automated way to blog. Interesting! I couldn’t really check it out cuz, hello, at work right now.. unfortunately not allowed to surf at work anymore. I do so miss my Internet job when it comes to that sort of thing!! Oh well. I’ll check it out tonight. I like my Déjà Vu diary, and will continue to use it, but it’s tedious sometimes. Much easier just to plunk into a form and go “send”. If it doesn’t look like crap, I’ll use it.

Found out my manager, Dave, is moving on to a higher position! I’m not sure how to feel about that. Happy for him, definitely. And he assured me that my position will continue like normal, no problem there. But who will I answer to? Will I answer to myself now? I know I’ll be aiding the new Produce manager and Loading manager with managing their employees, as well as the supervisors. All will be pretty normal, except I won’t be answering to Dave. Rene, the General Manager, is the big boss of all and will be the person I answer to, but will they replace Dave? If they don’t.. if they just divvy out his work, I’ll be answering only to me! I’ll be aiding everyone with the employees, and Rene will monitor me, but it’d be really cool if I didn’t have to ask anyone’s permission to go home early or whatever. We’ll see.

Oohhh.. Last night Omner gave Dairine a present! Very sweet. I wonder if he’s picking up on the fact that she’s flirting with him. He gave her an egg which will turn into a pet penguin in a week. An actual week. That part sucks. So next Thursday, I’ll have a pet! Woo! Saw Sarc again for the first time in a while too. Shortly after we exchanged greetings, I could tell he wasn’t feeling well. I can feel things like that. He didn’t say anything to indicate such, but I just knew. We got to talking, and he admitted that he’s tired of life. I offered to give him a Tarot reading or two, which he declined but said maybe later. I also offered to be an ear for him, so that’s all I can give for now. I wish I could help him feel better.

4:37pm – Oh yes, it does look like it’s going to be much easier to keep and updated journal! Blogger.com and blogspot.com look like a great couple of tools, and I’ll actually be able to sneak over and throw up posts whenever I finish writing them at work! That’ll be cool! And it looks like it may even be possible to have blogger send the data directly to my website! I gotta look further into that, because that would be more fun than going to blogspot, which is a banner-filled host. If blogger can upload to my FTP, I can design a new section of Déjà Vu for it! The rest can become archives, and I’ll still have my other pages to use from time to time. Not to mention the fact that I could open up more blogs for different subjects, like making one exclusively for Kiera’s journal that I’m writing! Coool!

Well isn't this just a neat little tool? Who says goofing off at work doesn't pay off? More later.......... bwahaha!

XFM - Christmas FM????

Back to work! I must be in a good mood – I don’t mind being at work. As much as I have fun in Dark Ages, I don’t want to be in there 24/7. That’d be kinda like hanging out with friends 24/7. Eventually you’re going to get tired and want to be alone for a while, doing something else. Oh, I never mentioned! Last Monday I got picked up at the bus exchange by my old friend, Shelley! It seems her and her boyfriend, Danny, are back in town! They’d moved to Alberta with Crystal and Shawna a few years back (Crystal is Danny’s older sister). Crystal moved back earlier this year. It was good to see Shelley again! Of course, I don’t expect to see her again for a while.. she’s always been that way. Oh well. We’re going to try to get the lot of us together for a Christmas party, so that’ll be fun! It’ll be all the old gang (well, except for Glenna and Naomi, who are long gone, and also weren’t part of the “original” gang anyway) plus Kok, because she’s met everyone and is a part of it now too! We’re going to try to get in touch with Cyndi (Shelley’s old best friend, Crystal’s cousin) too, as it’s been ages since anyone’s seen her! When I started grade 8, Cyndi and Shelley were the first friends that I made. In grade 9, Crystal moved to town and we didn’t actually become friends, but she was part of the group. Her and I didn’t become friends until grade 10, and even then, we didn’t become really good friends until we lived together long after grad. Now she’s like a sister! We’re closer than I am with Cyndi or Shelley. It’s funny how the times change things.

Oh, the strangest thing happened yesterday. I was listening to XFM, which I had been listening to all night the night before too. It was normal, with normal DJs talking about contests and events like usual. I think there was supposed to be an event with XFM listeners and the group “Hot Hot Heat” either that night, or soon. Also, there was a new contest where if you heard some guy singing “Let it Snow” very badly, you call in to win. This was all being talked about as I listened to the station like normal. Then, sometime between 11:30 and 12:00, after a commercial, instead of returning to music a track of Christmas bells played for a bit, then a Christmas song came on. I thought it was rather odd, but stayed for a bit thinking maybe it was some kinda weird “Merry Christmas” thing between the real music. Then, a voice said, “104.9 Christmas FM” and more Christmas music played. Uh.. yeah. Eventually, I just turned it off and played cds. Later, I turned it on again. Christmas music. I went to their website, which used to be a multi-media experience filled with news, contest info, song lists, etc.. and it was a single page saying “104.9 Christmas FM” in large letters. Nothing else. I tuned into the other rock station, C-Fox, while I showered, and between songs the DJ welcomed all “former XFM listeners”! All they would say is that XFM went out of business. Huh? How does a radio station go out of business in a matter of minutes? I mean, wouldn’t they know they were going out of business? Why would they be hosting events and running contests that they’d never even get to? Why would they cut off in the middle of the day, instead of at midnight? I don’t get it.

Wizards just can't take the hits.

Slept in as long as possible today, then worked on Kiera’s brief history website . Good to get that up! Later on today I also updated my Déjà Vu diary with entries from this “Day in the Life” series. Apparently some folks are actually interested in reading what’s being written daily! Eventually this will be a book-like diary, but until then I’ll throw up entries into Déjà Vu.. at least, those I feel like sharing.

Spent a long time in Dark Ages today, with Suzuna. It was fun! Her boyfriend was also around, and the three of us took our first circle characters (between levels 1-10) out to slay the Terror of the Garden. Looks good on the legend. I wonder if they’ll feel up to it again tomorrow! Suzuna played her wizard, Mystril. It’s hard for a monk to hunt with a wizard because monks need to keep contact with the monster, gotta be in their face throwing the punches and kicks.. while the wizard stands off to one side and blasts ‘em.. but when they do that, the beast decides to go after the wizard, making the monk chase after it!! Sooo annoying. Next time we’ll have to coordinate it better so we trap the beast, make it impossible for it to get out to chase her. I can take the hits, she can’t.

Black haired mystery.... Christmas in the City!

I’ve been having dreams of a black-haired girl. Okay, two dreams, and not the same girl in both, but black hair definitely. The first one was one of those rare and baffling dreams where everything feels completely real and strong. In it, we were in love. Big time. Different than I’ve ever felt before, actually. It was intense. She was so delicate, too. So fragile. She was scared to come out to her parents. Neither of us had dated a girl before, but we just knew it was right. Eventually, we ended up telling her older sister, who was shocked at first, but then supportive. We never ended up telling her parents in the dream, but she got over her fear of it. We got to the point where it really didn’t matter in the long run. And you know what? Waking from those dreams is so confusing and annoying. It leaves me with a very strong, very real, feeling of missing the other person and longing for them.

The second dream with a black-haired girl was kind of strange, and in it I was able remember some specific dream-details, like how sound doesn’t work the same. I was in a house, standing in a living room at the end of a hallway. At the other end of the hallway was a bathroom. I was talking with a man in the living room, but what would happen is he would look at me.. and I think his lips would move.. but no sound came out. I would just know what he said. There was absolutely no sound whatsoever. No background noise, nothing. Then, I heard a shower running down the hall. I looked down, and the door was ajar slightly, revealing a girl in the shower. I couldn’t hear anything but the shower, and even that kept cutting out. I walked down the hallway, and when I got to the bathroom the shower was off, and the girl was standing there in her clothes. She had long, black hair. We looked at one another, and knew each other instantly. Without words, we knew we had to leave. We wanted to be together, and the man back in the living room wouldn’t let us. I wrapped my arms around her and warped us outside of the house. Yeah, I can warp in dreams sometimes. It’s fun! So we ran away together. I don’t remember anything else.

Got to go Christmas shopping with Kok today! We went to Metrotown in Burnaby, so that was a lot of fun. I was a bit upset though because I couldn’t register the character name “Kiera” before we left. The purge was scheduled for today, but no luck yet. So we buzzed off to the mall and had a blast shopping around. I got one of mom’s main presents, but other than that I didn’t really know what I wanted to get for anyone, so I didn’t get much done. I did, however, find some good sales on sweaters that I needed to get for work (damn cold office!) so that was great!

After getting home, I still couldn’t register “Kiera” so I gave up and registered her full name, “KieraMeatha”. That worked, of course! And besides.. “Kiera” is a popular Irish name, so at least by having her last name in the handle people will know I’m not one of the OTHER “Kiera” types around (there are others with different spellings in the game). Of course, I’m making Kiera a Monk again, and I found a great website for monks called the Council of Sabonim. “Sabonim” is a word for a monk teacher. Student monks are called “hubae”. In the game there’s an awful lot of hubae slavery going around, because teaching students is worth a lot of experience and a lot of non-role players will pay millions of coins to get students so they can advance. I wanted to avoid all that stuff, so I was happy to find the website and a list of the sabonim who are members, meaning they’re not into the whole slave trade thing. They’re good role players, good teachers. I made myself a list of all the sabonim that have White Bat form, as that’s the form I want to learn too. In the game, I found one instantly, Deice. Really nice guy! He agreed to be my guide/mentor right away, and I told him OOC that I found him on the website, so he was glad for that. We spent the whole evening role playing and training Kiera! So much fun! I can’t wait to see him again. We got her all the way up to 7th insight (level) and got her trained in White Bat! It was way late by the time we finally said g’nite.. hope he didn’t have school or work the next morning!
