Congrats Andrea & Barry!

Well, dad took my computer and gutted it today. *fret* I haven't tried to run it yet, I hope it runs even with the cd drives taken out! I still have some things I need to backup, but they are small enough to throw on floppies (or email) so I haven't yet.

Today was Andrea's wedding. Ohh man, she was gorgeous! (I mean that as the beautiful bride type gorgeous). It was a really beautiful wedding. I was at her sister's wedding, and Andrea's was much better. Krystal's was held in a house, so yeah. Anything's better than that. I nearly cried so many times. And I was so happy - the DJ was able to play Karma Chameleon for Andrea and I! That was our song when we were little kids. We danced together to it - and lots of other songs. Poor girl was hotter than hell in her wedding dress, but we had fun. I also got a slow dance in (first time since high school, I believe!) with Barry's best friend. Kind of appropriate, the two best friends. In fact, Scott's known Barry for as long as I've known Andrea! Very sweet. He seems like a very nice guy. He's got a girlfriend. I learned that from Andrea. Her and Barry were scheming, naturally, and she pulled me aside once to tell me that Scott had told Barry that if he was single he'd be trying to pick me up. Very nice to hear, actually (good ego boost), but geez. That's the second one! Greg (in Europe) said the same thing, 'cept he said it to me. It's okay, I'm used to that one. heh.

Spudz!

I started work early today so I could get off at 4pm when most of the people upstairs get off. Nice thought, but I wasn't able to get a ride to the party at Lou's until closer to 5 anyway. Ah well, that's okay. At least I was done work for the day before we had to go. All the supervisors, the upstairs office staff and myself were invited to go to Lou's Bar & Grill for dinner and drinks to congratulate Dave on his promotion to GM, and the others for their promotions in his wake. It was fun to get out with the gang. The food was excellent and I had my first Long Island Iced Tea. Good stuff! I only had the one, but still, it was good. There was another drink there called a "Toblerone" that looked really good, but I didn't get a chance to try it (didn't notice it until just before it was time to go). It had a bunch of stuff in it, like vodka, Grand Marnier, Bailey's, something else, cream and honey! Heh.. Ah well, next time. Kok and I are going to go there sometime.

LOOK OUT!! It's the GRINCH!!!

Gah! What a way to start the day. I forgot the candy canes I was going to hand out with the paycheques!!! I was so looking forward to that! Damn. Then, I went upstairs to drop off papers and such, and got exploded at by the Shirley-Monster. Shirley is a lady who works upstairs and she's otherwise a nice lady. She brings in goodies all the time, to share with everyone and all the girls in the shipping office call her "Auntie Shirley". She loves children, and has pictures of them everywhere. However, Shirley has a bitchy side. A really really bad one. It's scary. And I've been bitched at more than a few times by her. I'm getting sick and tired of it. She gets into these grumpy moods, then it's "Bitch bitch bitch" all day long. Her favorite bitching is about how too many people are doing the same job and aren't doing it right. Bullshit! Things may not always be perfect, but this place is fine and getting better all the time! There's no reason for her attitude.

So today, I was looking at the paycheque box and noticed it was all taped up. I thought that was neat, cuz it was always falling apart, so I said so. Shirley went psycho, saying it wasn't the right box because I didn't bring it back. Excuse me?! I know I shouldn't argue with the old lady, but I'm so sick of her accusations. I bring the paycheque box back every time (I know, because I fill it with things over the weekend then bring it up on Sunday to drop everything & it off). So I told her that yes, I did so bring it back. She got so mad, and said I didn't because if I did, where is it? It wasn't there, and it wasn't up her ass. (I think maybe it WAS up her ass). I sighed and told her I didn't know where it went but that I always bring it up, so someone else must have taken it to use for something. Not a big deal, I was so flabbergasted! I mean.. geez! Who the hell cares about a stupid box anyway? This thing she has now, all taped up, is great! Very sturdy! First I forget candy canes, then I get reamed out by the old lady upstairs. I've got to start feeling better, I'm feeling sad now. Stupid female genes.

Oh well. I have other things to look forward to. I only work today and tomorrow, then there's a party tomorrow night and a wedding on Saturday. Then I work Sunday & Monday before being off for Christmas, four days in a row! Yay! Okay, ignore the nasty Shirley-Grinch and concentrate on cheer. Concentrate.. CONCENTRATE!! Arg. Remind me to avoid going upstairs or near Shirley. ><

The King is Cool! (let's hear it for the hobbits!)

Woke up to Dad phoning me. Missed the call, but got the voice mail. He wants $200 from me now, towards my Christmas present of a new computer. Sigh. I wish he'd stop complaining about it. Later, he was asking who was going to pay for the video card (the $200 is for the OS and fan). If he was going to have such a hard time upgrading my computer, he shouldn't have agreed to do it. It's already him & Grandpa both paying for it, so I don't really get it. We're using components from my old PC to cut costs! I was expecting it to cost around $1000 or $1500 and he's stressed because it's coming to about $800 now. Geez. What if I was getting EVERYTHING replaced? That would have been more like $2000, easy! I wish people wouldn't agree to things they don't want to do. And then again, knowing my father, he's just bitching and complaining because that's what he does best, but in reality he doesn't mind at all. Trying to translate my dad is worse than women.

Next I got a call from Kok inviting me to join the Zok for "Return of the Kings"! Yay! Really good movie!! I love how all the guys (or most of them) in that movie openly love each other. Friendships only, of course, but still not afraid to hug and cry. It's great!

Kok's Christmas Gatherish was fun! Food & annoying xmas music & goldfish oh my! Not to mention freaky stop-motion animals and a few explosions and cops going up in flames.. heh heh heh..

The Sims will take over the WORLD!

Kok and I went off to Willowbrook Mall today. I didn't really have any shopping to do, but did some anyway. I got a really good book on Film Making, and some mags. She finished up her xmas shopping.. then I was very bad and bought myself FFX-2 at Future Shop. Not sure why exactly, I've just heard such good things about it and I do love these kinds of games. I just never seem to finish them! Oh well, they're still fun. And the graphics.. wow!

Speaking of graphics, I'm one of the many who got hooked on the Sims and I am so excited to find out that they're coming out with the Sims 2! The graphics are sooo much better! Way more realistic, it's nearly to the point of scary. And now, they'll be able to grow from baby to toddler, kid, teen, adult, and elderly! They'll actually die of old age! And they'll have facial expressions and thoughts/feelings based on life experiences. They can multitask, have weekends off, etc, etc. Ah, it looks like fun! Oh, and when Sims have babies together, the offspring is based on the DNA of the parents! Scary & cool! I could make Sims of people and see what their kids would turn out like! Hehe. *eg*

Strawberries!

Still felt like crap today, but not too bad, so I went to work. Had a headache all day and generally felt icky, but stayed for most of the day. I had too much to do to go home early! But I did manage to get out at four, so that was nice. Got a ride home. I couldn't decide all day if I wanted to get together with Gina tonight. What a first impression, me being sick! I decided I was going to go over to Kok's for the night, no matter how I felt, but as I was waiting for Kok I went online and Gina came on to tell me her babysitter cancelled, so she couldn't meet us! Disappointing, but that's okay. Better than me feeling shitty while I meet her. So Kok and I watched xmas shows and exchanged gifts. She loved the Emily coffee mug I got her, and she gave me the cutest Strawberry Shortcake doll, as well as a gift certificate & Gonzo Pez & Kinder eggs.. hehe.. Fun fun! I started to feel better as the night went on, oddly enough.

Yup, I was right. I was sick. That's why I was so tired/icky. Today it really hit me. I got up to go to lunch, and nearly fell back over again from a dizzy spell! I also felt like throwing up, so skipped lunch. Did some more work that just had to be done, then went home at 12:30. Blah. I'm not allowed to be sick, too busy this week!
