Deja Vu

A new situation has occurred before...

I love learning about various spiritual topics, and I guess I'd fall into a "Neo Pagan" grouping if I had to. I love traveling, especially to cities & European places. I'm a writer at heart, and interested in filmmaking. I'm also hopelessly addicted to dolls, especially asian ball joint dolls. ^_^

It's time... can't wait... come home soon!!

I knew it was finally time. I'm a whirl with it, I feel a bit dizzy. I can feel the energy swirling around me, forming, growing, creating. I'm tired. I've been too tired, but it's okay. Creation takes energy, it's the rules. I feel it again. I haven't for a while - I chose not to. I was confused, listening to too many different things. One says this, the other says that. Good, well-meaning, but confusing. Especially "Shiva" (online friend, not the goddess).

Whenever I speak to him for too long I have two things happen: one is, he's a great person to talk with and I get lots of affirmations and information to process. The other thing, however, is that he tends to be a tiny bit of a pessimist and seems to believe the world is going to end (tho this is supposed to be a good thing, a change for the better, not a destruction thing). Even so, I don't agree with this theory and sometimes it bugs me to think it may be true. I get to thinking, if everything's going to end, why bother trying to do anything? Bad way to think.

So I separated myself from influences like that, went into my own place to "hibernate", I suppose. Now it's flowing again. I knew it was time to do an affirmation. I've been waiting for it. At risk of "jinxing" it, I'm not going to say what I "affirmed" or anything, but I'm excited. First I asked some questions and got answers via the Tarot, and I was enjoying the answers so I knew it was time to make the affirmation. Updates will be posted infrequently. lol!

I'm slightly disappointed. I didn't get a single reply from my "come check out Second Life" email. Of course, I know the program takes specific computer stats which not everyone may be up to, and it also takes time others may not have. But for me, I'm having an absolute ball! Others may not relate - but I think having a healthy online social life is just as good as the "real world" kind (as they say), and I'm happy to say I have good social lives in both online & off (I do believe it's important to have either only real world, or both.. not just online, cuz ppl need ppl need live interaction). I guess I'm comfortable with it cuz I've been online for nearly 10 years now, so the online portion of life seems very normal to me. In fact, at this point I could barely imagine life without it, and I don't think it's a bad thing.

So I'm having a ball in Second Life. I've made some really interesting friends, seen some pretty amazing things (did I mention it's a 3D world?) and had some really fun parties. On Canada Day I went to two SL parties before going out to see real fireworks that night. In SL I had a ball dressing up with maple leaves everywhere, and ended up winning Miss Canada Day! lol.. that was a riot! The world is also pretty full of vampire-lovers, so that's really amusing. I've started a "Buffy/Angel" fan group, and have met a few of the "vampires" in the game. Oh how I do love to dance with the darkness.....

Did I mention I'm a part of a magazine team in SL? We have issue one out already, and I'm doing the webdesign/upkeep at: SecondLIFE Magazine. So far it's been fun, and we get paid in-world money for our work, so you can't beat that! I also own quite a bit of land in SL and have a lovely little beach house in one part, with a "Canadian National Park Reserve" in my backyard. Full of trees and a lake for picnics!

Because of Second Life, I learned about a really cool program called "Poser" where you can create very realistic people that can be posed or animated! When I say realistic, I mean it! I'll have to try to create a model and upload a pic soon. It's really amazing what others have created with it. True art. I hope I can use it to make something good!

Y'know, I should probably insert a tiny rant here, just for the sake of it. I've always known that I don't want to meet guys in bars cuz it's not a good way to meet people, but now I have my proof. I went to the bar with Kok a couple weeks ago, to help her celebrate completing her first semester of college. She purposefully dressed skantily, and came ready to get drunk and let loose. Nothing wrong with that for the most part - except the obvious flaw in the plan.. though it's fun to dress skantily and flirt while drunk, it's also a very good way to pick up jerks, as Kok found out.

There are many guys who hang out in bars looking for girls they consider "easy" to pick up. They especially seem to like young college-aged girls that are drunk. It's particularly easy for them to make their move on them. And these guys may not even really be thinking about being mean to these girls - they just want sex, and assume these young girls want nothing more than that as well, since there are so many like that. It's pretty much a calling card: 20-something girls, dress sexy, get drunk and presto! the guys looking for sex will find ya.

I'm just glad Kok was able to figure out that the guy who picked her up wasn't interested in a relationship before it went too far. She was lucky. My previous position remains steadfast: I will never try to meet a partner in a bar. That is, without having met them previously elsewhere. Nothing wrong with going to bars. Oh and I should add - nothing wrong with sex either. lol! I'm just personally so not into the whole sex-with-strangers thing. To me, it's not just an amusement two adults can partake in, it's something special to be shared with someone you care about. But that's just me, I'm weird. :P

Ohh I tell ya... I can't wait to find a good dance club to go to. In SL I've become a VIP in one of the most popular dance clubs around, and it is sooo much fun! SL's avatars (the things that represent the people) are very well done and it's a lot of fun to dress up and party in there. Last week we had a huge party celebrating the club getting to the #1 spot on the Popular list, and had two live DJ's streaming the music in from California! One is a house regular, Danc Marten, the other was some popular DJ from California, and since I'm not up on DJs I have no idea who it was. lol! But he was awesome and they even shouted out to us, which gives it an even more "realistic" feel, than just piping in tunes. I'm friends with the owner of the club, and he's a really nice guy. Terrific job building the place! Can't wait to go back...

Well that's enough terribly long blogging for now. Back to work, lunch break's over!!
