Comments on!
Well it was pointed out to me last night that no one could comment on this site without signing up. Signing up for what, I ask? I had no idea there was even that kind of a setting in there. I simply turned comments on, and figured they were on. :P So I poked through the settings and fixed that little flaw. Now anyone can comment, registered or not. ... Not that I have a large audience just dying to put their 2 cents in, but ya know... it's just nice to have things working right.
I haven't been posting very much because I kinda like to hold out for interesting babble, instead of the "well, I got through another day" or "I went to a movie" kind of posts I was trying to do last year. Those were boring to both write and I'm sure read.
So last time I think I raved about SecondLife and all the fun I'm having in there, and an update is definitely needed. I'm still having a lot of fun in there! I've met some wonderful new friends, and we have a ball hanging out and doing things. Last Monday they opened up a new section full of "snow sims" (a "sim" is one square area of land located on it's own server) and everyone flocked to the slopes for snowboarding and snowball fights in July! It was great! But since there'd never been snow in SecondLife before, there wasn't much in the way of "warm" clothing for sale... I'd been debating what to try my hand at making and this provided a golden opportunity, so I threw up my shop-sign ("Llewelyn Moon Design") at my house and made a line of women's ski/snow wear.
I did this all Monday night, and was up until 3am getting it all up and setting up a scheduled event for the following day so that people would know about the clothing. When I logged on a few hours after the event the next day, I was shocked... not only had people come and bought things, they'd bought a LOT of things! I spent about L$250 (that's in-world, "Linden dollars") creating the items, and made about L$1500 in that first afternoon. Spurred on by the success I put together a men's wear line and had that out that night. Every day since then I've made around L$500-L$1500 in sales daily! :D My shop is now listed in the directory and I have two booths in two popular malls.
Outside of SecondLife things are pretty good too. My dad's gone camping so I've been enjoying the freedom to play music as loud as I want - sometimes it's the simple things that are so very good. :) I've also been doing a lot of tarot readings lately - mostly for people in SecondLife, but also for myself. Actually, it's very cool because the readings I do in SecondLife are for people I don't really know.. and when they say "omg that is so right!" it's a great confirmation that my readings work and aren't just random cards.
So with that, I've been doing some readings for myself lately too. Did I say that in the other post? I forget. Ah yes, I did mention it a little. See, spring 2003 I started doing little readings for myself and discovered that someone was going to come into my life - something that did indeed happen. (did I mention what a fantastic summer it was in 2003?).. so around the beginning of this month I just had a feeling.. and sure enough, the cards confirmed that someone was coming.
Y'know, it's not like I haven't been open to the possibility before now anyway... but they say you're not supposed to "look", that things just happen, so I was just living life and doing my thing. But when the cards started coming up like this, I knew it was a good sign. The thing I didn't know was if it would be online or off. I was meeting so many new people online, you never know.
Well lunch break is almost over and I don't think I have anything else new to babble about yet. Except maybe about going down to Washington last night with Kok to see Peter Noone in concert. Oh there, I just did. heh.. Yeah, it was fun. Noone's a nice guy, and really energetic on stage. It's nice to hear 60's music "rocked" a bit. I mean, I like the 60's type of music, but it's pretty soft and "popish"... but when Noone does his show now, his backing band has really good sound, with more of a modern sound, so it's nice.
Okay back to my nice cool, cold-storage warehouse office.... heat wave?? what heat wave???? *evil grin*
